Features for the Toro TimeMaster 21199

For homeowners with big yards and busy schedules, Toro's TimeMaster covers more ground in far less time. The sleek, lightweight body easily circles trees and shrubs. The TimeMaster makes a big impact with a small footprint, so it won't take up a lot of room in your garage.

  • 10.00 ft-lb Gross Torque 223cc Briggs & Stratton OHV (50-State CARB Compliant): Powerful 10.00 ft.-lb gross torque 223cc Briggs & Stratton OHV engine delivers the performance and durability that Toro is known for.
  • 30" Mowing Deck: The wide 30" mowing deck lets you handle large areas of grass quickly and easily, reducing mowing time by up to 40% when compared to a 21" walk mower.
  • Dual-Force Cut: The Dual-Force twin blade cutting system and Toro Atomic blades cut grass into a super fine mulch for superior quality of cut and a healthy, rich lawn.
  • Personal Pace Self-Propel System with Traction-Assist Handle :This intuitive technology automatically adjusts the mower's pace to your walking speed. For more challenging areas with uneven terrain, the Traction-Assist Handle can help monitor your speed, and keep you mowing at a comfortable pace.
  • Blade Stop System: Lets you start it once, then keep it running. Now you have the freedom to step away from the mower to move an obstacle or empty the grass bag without having to restart every time.
  • Quick-Stow Lever: The TimeMaster has two storage positions for easy compact storage and convenient handle height positions to insure a comfortable mowing experience for any operator.
  • 2 Point Height-of-Cut: You can easily adjust the deck height at 2 points instead of the hassle of walking around the mower to adjust 4 different levers.
  • Washout Port: Attach a hose to the mower deck to easily clean the under side of the deck.

Its really a great machine. I like being able to disengage the blades while the mower is still running.  Very manageable size/weight wise, helps me going up and down hills, yet the width of the cut is great.  Speed variation of self propelled drive is handy, you can really get a good pace going.  Like the cleaning feature where you can attach a hose and washout the grass under the deck. Very happy with this purchase.

It works well, when it works. It stopped working halfway through its first cut (blades wouldn't engage). I tightened the cable and it worked for a while. Now a belt just shredded out of nowhere. Had to use the electric back-up mower. May send back.

This mower works for my application,  because  even  if it  can't  go full speed on tall grass, it's  covering a wide  area  in each  pass. Easy to start, and handle.

Overall, a great mower that’s been reliable and cut 33% of my mowing time out (switched from a 22” Toro recycler).
There’s only two things that I personally don’t care for:
1. The gas tank is too small and can’t make it through my 10,000 sqft yard (my 22” recycler could).
2. The tires and personal pace aren’t quite strong enough to pull the mower up all of my hills. There’s still assistance, but it definitely felt better pushing a smaller, lighter mower up those hills.

My only complaint is that the hose water clean out doesn't work that good, I still have to tilt the mower back and spray out the underneath with a strong spray. Otherwise this mower cuts my time in 1/2.

This is the second one of these that I have owned.  You can expect about 8 years of service from them based on my experience with the first one that I owned.  Also, you can expect some repairs in the form of replacement of belts and perhaps some pulleys .  They start easily, even in cold weather.  In fact they may even start a little too easily.  All you have to do is pull the handle on the starter rope and it fires up which could be a safety issue if a child were playing around with the mower.  The justification for buying this mower is simply that it cuts a 30 inch swath with each pass, whereas most mowers cut 19 or 20, and that really does save you some time.

This is an excellent mower, the extra width really helps when mowing a big lawn and the self propelling is awesome. I only wish there was an option to reverse because the mower is extremely heavy when having to pull it backwards.

I am very happy with the mower. It is exactly as described and showed up when
Expected. I’ve cut my yard and a couple of my  neighbors also. My only complaint would be that after spending $1000. On a lawnmower with free shipping, I tried to add 2 replacement blades for an additional $23 and I was gonna be charged $9 for shipping. I’ll get my blades closer to home apparently

Really cuts down on mowing time vs. a standard push mower.  Cut is ok, a bit more blade speed and it would be better.  Oil change is a bit difficult.
