Cuts very well, tracks nicely. I haven't used the self sharpener yet and used it on some large (20'') unseasoned cherry that was felled in August. Very nice. I have a couple of older electrics, sixteen inch blades. Neither has the safety brake the Oregon has. This is a very important feature I think. If you kick the safety bar, it stops instantly, like on gas saws. If you let go of the trigger, same thing.  I'm not a pro, don't cut wood every day. I definitely recommend it. It was shipped quickly. Good deal.

The person I talked to on the phone from Jack's was very courteous, and helpful, and shipping was great.

So far, the Oregon 1500 chainsaw that I purchased has worked very well.I have not had much chance to use it as to date, but so far I am well pleased. The first time I used it, the chain came off twice, but after getting used to the chain adjusment knob, it was no problem. As I said, I have not  had much chance to use it , but if it continues to work the same, I will be well be happy, and would recommend it and  Jack's to others

Review:
The Oregon CS1500-091 Self-Sharpening Chainsaw seems to be well constructed and should last for many years with little maintenance. Though it costs a little more, it seems superior to other brands because of its self-sharpening feature and high-amp rating, I have read many reviews regarding burnt-out motors of other brands. This may be partially due to using an under-rated extension cord. The minimum suggested wire size for an extension cord for this chainsaw is: 0 to 50 ft. / 14AWG and 51 to 100 / 12 AWG. My only complaint is that you must check the chain tension very often and tighten the chain to the point that it feels over-tightened, otherwise it will throw the chain. For best performance: Check the chain tension and oil level often, sharpen the blades with a chain file periodically and don't let your neighbors borrow it.

It was of a higher quality and performance than I even anticipated.  What a fine product.  It was shipped to my billing address instead of the shipping address on the invoice, but that was ok, there it suddenly was, and that's ok.  I would do it all again.  Thanks.

Question:
In your Q&A, it recommends using Oregon brand bar and chain oil in the CS1500... & I searched your site, but did not find the Oregon Oil. Do you offer that Oil for sale? I searched online & it is sold only at a few Retailers. What other Oil & Specs would you suggest Using with this Chainsaw? Thanx!

Answer:
Bruce, Oregon 54-026 is the bar and chain oil recommended.
Asked on 4/3/2016 12:13:15 PM by Larry
Question:
Can you use 30 weight oil or do you have to use the Oregon brand oil?

Answer:
Larry, it is recommended that you use the Oregon brand bar and chain oil. Other types of oil may void your warranty and may not perform quite right like the specially designed brand oil.
