Review:

Quality I would expect from Husqvarna. Husqvarna should include a 26 tooth blade instead of the Scarlett blade. It would also help if they would include a file guide to help with the 15 degree angle for sharpening. It would be a small inclusion for a major purchase like this. Customers would appreciate it.

Fast Delivery, good prices. The Blades work great for cutting up to a 6" tree. You can make the blades last longer by cuttng the bigger stuff with a chainsaw though. Those 6" trees really dull the blades fast.

I Got Two Of These Husky 555FX. They Only Have About 15 Hrs On Each Of Them But Have No Real Problems As Of yet. One Of Them Needed A Carb Adjustment To Maintain Idol With No Throtle But That Was Covered By Husky So Long As It Was Done In The First 30 Days . It Goes Through 2" Hardwoods Like A Well Swung Bushaxe. Stuff Thicker Than The Depth Of Blade Cut I Have To Notch Same As I Would With A Chain Saw And As Lond As I Keep The Blade SharpIt Fells Them Bout As Fast As The Chain Saw. Which Bring Uphusky's Scarlet BladeIt Came With. It Dulls Fast But Sharpens Just As Fast. I Cary Husky's File With Me And Put A Couple Of Strokes On It Every Other Tank. At This Point i'd Do It Again.

Review:

This saw is as advertised. I am cleaning out the trees and shrubs that sprang up between the rows of a pine tree plantation. The typical growths that require removal are 1" to 4" diameter. Those of 2.5" or less go down very quickly, while the larger ones normally require a cut on both sides, but it still doesn't take long. A downside to the saw is that the blade gets dull quickly and requires filing routinely, but if you are clearing out a lot of material, that isn't a surprise. The harness system keeps the majority of the stress off your lower back (as compared to bending over repeatedly to make all the same cuts with a chain saw) and it also helps keep the saw in good control if the blade catches and jumps. This machine is definitely pricey, but it helps get a lot of work done. Snake chaps are a good idea when running the saw!

I haven't had a chance to use the saw yet. Weather has to cool off before I begin. I put the saw together, (instructions for starting are somewhat confusing), but it started right up after I figured out the throttle arrangement. My only complaint is it took over three weeks to receive. MY CC was due before the saw showed up. It is a heavy saw and appears to be well built. I have 40 acres and I want to cut buck thorn that grows around the trees and I wanted something that had power. I believe this will take care of business.

Will the Husqvarna 555FX accept the string trimmer heads and guards? Does it accept the grass blades and guards? It shows it just comes with the saw blade and guard but I'm curious if I can use different cutter attachments and guards. Thank you.

Kyle, yes the 555FX can be used with grass blades. The operator manual provides alternative part numbers for a trimmer head and grass blades on page 36.
