Review:
I purchased this mower to replace a Husqvarna 6021P which was only 6 years old. My old mower also had a Kohler engine and still ran well. The deck however, was very thin and cheap and actually broke where one of the front wheels attached causing the wheel
to fall off. I was able to reattach it with some sheet metal, but I wanted a mower that was more rugged. I have a sloped yard with obstacles like boulders separating different levels of terraced flat sections. Occasionally bumping into these rocks with the
front wheels, is probably what led to the deck failure on the old mower. The L 421P has a deck that is much more substantial than typical mowers that I saw for sale. It is also more rugged overall as advertised. I also like the fact that the deck does not
have a flip up side door since I only use it for mulching and bagging leaves. That door always leaked grass and pushed itself open on my old mower. The only downside is that this mower weighs about 20 pounds more than the typical push mower. You notice this
when pushing uphill. I expected this, but it is due to the better construction so I am happy with it. It also cuts well in mulching mode. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I received it without the "hardware bag" that includes the owners
manual and the necessary nuts, bolts and braces to attach the handle. This makes me wonder about Husqvarna's quality control. I had to wait a while to get these parts under warranty after contacting Jack's, but other than that issue I would highly recommend
this if you want a mower that should last a long time.
