Features for the Husqvarna DRT900

The Husqvarna DRT900 tiller is a dual rotating tiller. It offers the advantages of both a forward rotating cultivator and counter rotating deep soil tiller. The sealed transmission and sturdy frame add durability and longevity to this tiller. Equipped with features including a counterweight, drag bar, and agricultural tires, enables the DRT900 to dig through the toughest earth.

  • Counterweight: For safe and sturdy operation. The counterweight increases weight on the wheels and improves balance.

  • Agricultural Tires: Heavy treads provide better grip in cultivated and muddy soil.
  • Drag Bar: Easy-adjust drag bar, for balance in different working conditions.

Starts great, runs great, has great power

Handle height is good. I'm 5'6" and the handle is set to the highest it will go (it's adjustable) and it is still comfortable to use.

I find the handles a little awkward the way they stick straight out and the lever you hold down is on the top of the left handle. My neighbors tiller has a handle that comes across like a lawn mower and it seems to be a lot more natural feel to me. I might be trying to control the tiller a bit too much instead of just letting it do its thing.

I would definitely recommend the Husqvarna DRT900 if you are looking for a good tiller. I have not decided if the forward rotation of the tines is that much of a benefit, but I do like to have it as an option. I will probably use it more in the fall when I add organic matter to the soil. I'm very happy with my purchase after about 4 hours of tilling.

Looked at many different models including Cub Cadet from TSC, but kept going back to the Husqvarna with dual rotation.  For the extra $100 for the dual tine versus counter rotation was worth it the first time using it for planting an acre of grass seed.  I also have always preferred the B&S motor.  Ran it at different speeds for an hour, changed the oil and went to work.  Plenty of power and the forward speed is perfect, also ordering from Jacks was great due to being tax free.  The only down side I had was the welded nut for the handle adjustment was welded offset so I could not install the screw, but no big deal since the handle has resistance and I can adjust on the fly by picking up or lowering slightly while I'm using it.  After the first day it looked about 5 years old since I had rocks get stuck between the tines and wheels, had to remove the wheels and using a rubber mallet beat the housing back in.

I'm very satisfied with purchase and delivery of my new tiller.  I got the tiller that I wanted with free shipping.  Lowes' and HomeDepot aren't even close with their offerings. The tiller works great.

This was by far the best deal I found after significant research, plus it included free shipping to my rural home in northwest Minnesota.

Purchased this unit after researching on-line and determined that this was the best unit for the price, and after receiving and using this tiller, I am not at all disappointed.
The tiller performs perfectly and the shipping was quite timely.
I would recommend this unit to anyone that is looking into a rear-tine tiller and would recommend Jacks for the promptness.

Delivered on-time, was packaged securely, easily put on the handle, tightened some bolts and screws I found loose, and it was ready to go!  Started on first pull with the choke. Once you get used to it, it's easy.  Doesn't tire you out.  You learn the little tricks on shifting the gears pretty quick. Has my garden spot, (old cow pasture-sod) worked right into powder! Love it!

Are the handlebars adjustable so I can set them waste level? Is it easy for a small frame woman to use?SLBQE

Sylvia, the handles bars on the Husqvarna DRT900 are vertically adjustable. The handles are about 3 feet high and the tiller weighs 200 lbs, if this is something you feel you can handle it should work well for you.

Looking for a small tiller that works close to plants.

Front tine tillers are generally smaller than rear tine tillers. The smallest we have is 9".

Check out the Front Tine Tillers.
