Features for the Husqvarna DRT900E

The Husqvarna DRT900E is a dual rotating tiller. It offers the advantages of both a forward rotating cultivator and counter rotating deep soil tiller. The sealed transmission and sturdy frame add durability and longevity to this tiller. It's equipped with features including a counterweight, drag bar, and agricultural tires, that enable the DRT900E to dig through the toughest earth. Comes with the new electric start option.

  • Electric Start: Start up your DRT900E quickly and easily with the electric start feature, a rarity in tillers. It may be the very first.
  • Counterweight: For safe and sturdy operation. The counterweight increases weight on the wheels and improves balance.
  • Power Forward and Reverse: One gear forward and one reverse, for easy operation, maneuverability and transport.
  • Agricultural Tires: Heavy treads provide better grip in cultivated and muddy soil.
  • Drag Bar: Easy-adjust drag bar, for balance in different working conditions.
  • Reverse Gearbox: Improves maneuverability and control.
  • Briggs and Stratton OHV Engine: Powerful overhead-valve engine provides the torque necessary to cultivate the most compact earth. The electric starter makes it easy to get going every time.

It's big, it's tough, it takes more strength than expected to keep it going straight.  It is perfect for cultivating crop rows, can handle small stones but not bigger rocks.  Bought the electric start in case smaller people needed to use it but given the strength required to control it that makes little sense now, but it does work.  It can do a 50 foot potato row in five minutes if there are no rocks.  It turns old  crops under perfectly.  It does what it said it would so far.  Perfect for small scale farming. I would urge a friend to choose it.  I already have actually.

I had never heard of a 110 volt start being on gardening equipment and was totally shocked when it arrived and I learned I had to plug in. Problem if you are working away from the house. No where that i could find did it identify this. I was disappointed in Briggs and Stratton and also Husqvarna for not disclosing this different feature. The tiller works fine other that that disappointment.

worth the trouble  of finding  this tiller after trying at  the ( L) store and being told  they would get it  and then another local store  finally  jacks came thru the tiller works great the reason  for the electric start  is just a little extra  insurence .you never know who will be starting it  while it pulls easy  the electric start  is a push button away.the machine cuts thru  the soil and makes it easy to rake and mound up for planting it even broke up  the hard sandy soil  here near the beach  and after the last tiller I had  a front tine tiller  well this is  like  the diference between a   sweet ride and a jumping  bull. and  it gets it done faster   I was so happy I  had the front of the yard  scrapped off and then I tilled it to plant  new grass

Question:
How does the electric start work on theDRT900E

Answer:

Gene,

To use the electric start on the DRT900E Tiller you plug the extension cord into the tiller, and then into the wall, turn on the gas, adjust the choke and the throttle, and finally, press the button located near the power cord to start the tiller. You would then remove the extension cord and begin tilling!
