Rick, this mower uses SAE 10W-30/SAE10W-40 for -4 degrees up to roughly 90 degrees, or SAE 30 for 32 degrees to roughly 90 degrees, so either would be a safe bet. The oil capacity for this engine is 2.2 U.S. Quarts.
