Husqvarna LTH2038 38 inch 20 HP (Briggs & Stratton) Lawn Tractor (2013)

Mower starts every try, runs really smooth, has plenty of power and cuts grass nice and clean. I purchased a 2 bin bagger and this works good on the mower, only problem with that is the dust coming from bagger unless you use plastic lawn bags inside its bags.

Has a nice size for smaller yards, goes around plants and trees good and close. Biggest advantage is , It drives thru my 48" gate opening without removing the bagger.

Mower  would deserve 5 stars and so would the place of purchase. Only received 4 stars because of the poor customer support. Specs on the web site are not all correct. only good point of that is most of the incorrect specs are in favor of the owner except NO DECK WASH PORT as listed. Mower does have pressurized lubrication and a filter. Head lights and 2 anti scalp wheels on deck

I chose this mower size mainly because it would fit through my storage shed door.  My previous (other brand) mower was also a 38", which served my mowing needs well. I was eager to experience the hydrostatic drive, but quickly realized that it would involve a learning curve for me. This model uses a fender-mounted lever to control forward or reverse motion, with a "shift gate" notch in the middle to separate the two. With the throttle set at the recommended FAST speed for mowing, it's very easy to unintentionally bump into things, until you get comfortable with using the controls!

If I had been more observant while shopping for a mower, I might have chosen a 42" model (which should also have barely fit through my storage shed door) because the 42" and larger models come equipped with a pedal-operated motion control. I think this would be easier to use than the fender-mounted lever.

After some initial confusion over why my mower was shipped without an hour meter and a deck wash fitting (both of which were shown as standard equipment) Jacks did ship me the missing items, and I was able to install them myself. I noted after my intial start-up of the mower that the engine seemed rather noisy, with what sounds like valve clatter. And when shutting off the engine, a couple of "clunks" are heard just before it completely stops... maybe it uses an internal flywheel brake (as a safety feature). 

Anyway, I have now used the mower and it performs well. The 20 HP engine and 38" swath is well-suited to my yard size, and once I'm more adept with the mower speed controls I'll be even better satisfied with it. I do like the extra ignition switch position that allows mowing in reverse without concern about the engine shutting off. Also, the engine starts immediately and so far it's running flawlessly. (I'll be monitoring the valve clatter noise, to see if perhaps a valve lash adjustment is needed).

My 4 star rating is not a negative reflection on Mowers at Jacks... merely that this mower (which I specifically selected) is a slightly less-than-perfect fit for me.  After I had exchanged some emails with the support staff and my problem with the missing items was resolved, Jack called me personally to ensure that I was satisfied with my purchase. I appreciate that level of customer service.
